This arrangement of Rimsky-Korsakov’s classic fast and furious showpiece is challenging, but quite playable. The original has been expanded by the addition of a brief introduction, a couple of modulations, and a coda of some length (in comparison to the overall brevity of the piece). in 2022, the arranger created an amusing video version of this arrangement (see link above).
To accommodate the preferences of various soloists, The pre-recorded (CD) version of the accompaniment features eight different accompaniment tracks at different tempos, ranging from medium-fast to “hold on to your horses!” The soloist may choose the version that best suits them. The different tempos are also useful as a practice tool.
In addition to the CD-accompanied arrangement, there are also versions with piano or band accompaniment. Although the solo part is challenging, the accompaniments are purposely designed to be relatively easy to perform.

Three solo parts are provided: one for bass clef euphonium, one in B-flat treble clef for trumpet or euphonium or clarinet, and one for tuba. If you wish to perform the arrangement, but play another instrument, Dr. Corwell will be glad to create another solo part for you.
