TO PURCHASE

This version of Schubert’s lyrical masterpiece is designed as a short encore piece. After a brief introduction, the famous theme is presented by the soloist over a soft background, and a brief codetta brings the arrangement to a peaceful close. The soloist plays the melody throughout, and the beautifully crafted arpeggiated accompaniment patterns, for which the work is perhaps best known, are distributed amongst the flutes, clarinets, and trumpets in the band-accompanied version.
