In this version of the final movement of one of Bach’s well-known compositions, the numerous string parts of the original score have been reduced to just four brass parts. All members of the quartet share equally in the passing around of the never-ending sixteenth-note passages, making the piece great fun for both performers and audiences! It was premiered by Neal with The US Army Band Tuba-Euphonium Quartet in 2007, and the ensemble uses it regularly as a concert opener. This lively movement has also been arranged by Dr. Corwell for euphonium or trombone solo with CD accompaniment. (see: Largo & Allegro, by J.S. Bach)
